Welcome to the Newfoundland and Labrador Teacher Network Website, an established Atlantic Community Mathematics Network (ACMN) website.
This page will post information about the Teacher Network and
AGATE-M Atlantic Gateway to Mathematics.
Teachers across Atlantic Canada and all the Atlantic Universities are engaged in a wonderful partnership to change the culture of mathematics in the region.
Announcements
Melanie Burgess, Leo Etchegary, Renee Lynch, Jonathan Mauger, Kerry Park, and Matthew Smith was selected by Dr. Sherry Mantyka as the initial particpants of the Newfoundland Teacher Network.
Dr. Sherry Mantyka was appointed vice-chair of the AGATE-M Executive until 2008.
Jon Mauger was appointed chair of the Newfoundland Teacher Network.
The first annual AGATE-Meeting will take place at Mount Allison on December 4th, 2004 Keynote speakers: mathematical sculptor Helaman Ferguson (Mathematics in Bronze and Stone) along with photographer Claire Ferguson and Macarthur prize winner Jeff Weeks (The shape of space).
October 22 and October 23, 2004 Dr. Sherry Mantyka and Jon Mauger attended SMART T3 Regional Conference at the Fairmont Hotel & Resorts in St. John's, NL. The conference was sponsered by Texas Instruments Corporation.
